KT Gunpowder N Lead is by Cue Bars Laddie, an AQHA point earning and producing stallion, who is out of two money earning parents. KT Gunpowder N Lead’s dam is a mare we have used in all aspects of ranch work and she has been shown NFQHA and was featured on the cover of the NFQHA book. KT Gun in a Million, “Mil,” was born May 23, 2014 and is a mare by KT Gunpowder N Lead and out of Wright on Sugarnic, “Stinger.”‘ Mil has been color tested by UC Davis as a smoky black and her brindle coloring cannot be explained by chimerism. On top of the crazy color, she is bred to the hilt. Mil’s dam, Wright On Sugarinic (Stinger) Won Pro division of the Cascade Cutters Futurity and is an own daughter of Lenas Wright On. Her dam, Just Plain Sugari has NCHA earnings of $111.31 and is an AQHA point earner. She is a granddaughter of Smart Little Mesa, Slide Me Again and Just Plain Colonel, who are all money and pt earners. She is also the dam of our Stallion, Just Plain Starlight. Top side, this filly is out of KT Gunpowder N Lead (Gunner) is a son of Cue Bars Laddie. Cue Bars Laddie is a roan stallion that has been shown as a reiner, cowhorse and rope horse. He was the recipient of the Open AQHA All Around Trophy and is a CCHA Hall of Fame Horse. Gunner is out of Charros Dandy Miss (Pistol) who was shown NFQHA and local shows. Great cow horse/ranch horse/rope horse. Homozygous for black mane and tail, and a dunskin. Gunner has greats on his papers like Peppy San, Doc O’Lena, Dandy Derby, Docs Jack Frost, and Imperial One. Gunner took the best of both and is a dunskin roan. Broke to ride in the Allison Trimble program and a very nice stallion. We continue to be impressed with this mare. Mil had ground work done with Katie Whetzel out of Pullman and a few rides with Katie. Next, Mil went to Josh Hoelscher in the Potlatch area for 30 days. After that she went to SE Idaho and was ranch ridden by Jake Geddes from 2018-2019. In the winter of 2019 she came home. Her first foal, KT Gunz for Chics, is by NZ Scotch Time, “Rip,” and is a yearling red roan filly. Her second foal, KT Gunnin For King, “3,” is by KT King of Blue, “King” and is a Smokey Blue Roan (Color Tested Rn/n, E/E, N/Cr, a/a).

Many of the horses on our sale page are not ours or located at our ranch in Connell. Please call the owners of the horses, they are bred by us or out of one of our stallions, which is why they are our for sale page. There is a really nice broke mare, a green broke mare, a 4 year old with limited ground work, two year old colts, a two year old filly, two stallions and some yearlings.

Man Crush Monday: KT Gunpowder N Lead

As many of you that read the blog know, we each “claim” a stud and mine is Gunner. So I am doing Man Crush Monday today on Gunner. He is definately my dream horse. I bought his mom, “Pistol,” and shoed her NFQHA before we bred her. Anna has acutally started riding her now. We bred Pistol to a stallion, Cue Bars Laddie, owned by our good friend, Allison Trimble Paparoa. Gunner spends his winters at my house, where I like to give him hugs and he tolerates this. On occasion he sees me coming and throws his head and trots away, I tell him, ok, today is not a hug day, but tomorrow is so you had just better accept it, and so far he has. LOL Pistol is also good at hugs, she likes a good squeeze every now and again. When people are out touring and ask me what they should breed their mare too, I am going to tell you 90% of the time, Gunner. But, I would breed everythingto him, so that is not helpful to you. I actually do like our other stallions as well, which is why I would give them 10% of the mares. I guess it is a good thing it is not just up to me.
