A little gold, a lot of pedigree, and a name we can all get behind—because who wouldn’t like to double their payday?
KT Double the Payday is a fancy palomino yearling colt with proven reining bloodlines, dependable ranch horses, and generations of cow sense behind him. If you’re looking for a prospect for ranch riding, versatility, roping, or ranch work, take a look at this guy!
Born: March 30, 2025
Sire: KT OneShadie Captain, “Cappy”
Dam: KT Easter Bunny, “Peanut”
Color: Palomino
Genetic testing: 5-panel N/N; IMM/N
Price: $4,500
Cappy is by Captains Double Coy, “Double,” and out of A Little Shadie Chic, “Shadie.” Shadie had a successful NRHA reining career, earning the 2006 Reserve Regional Experience Championship in Region One and multiple AQHA points. She later carried young riders in the show pen—a pretty good résumé for a mare whose influence continues through her grandfoals.
Shadie’s sire, Comandalena, earned over $143,000 and 260.5 AQHA points. Her pedigree also brings in A Little Shady Jac, Hollywood Jac 86, Doc Tom Tucker, Fritz Command, and Smart Little Lena. There’s plenty of performance history behind that pretty palomino coat!
Double brought the practical side: cow sense, trainability, and an easy disposition. He was professionally trained and later used on the ranch, where he had natural cow ability and the steady feel of a gelding. We still use several of his daughters, and Kade ropes off two of them. Around here, a pedigree gets your attention, but dependable ranch horses earn their keep.
His dam, Peanut, is our sweet dunalino daughter of KT Heza Pana Dude, with just enough sass to keep life interesting. Dude is by Zinks Major Kid and out of Panas May Day, adding foundation breeding that includes Pana Dude, Major Bonanza, Skipper W, and Skipster.
Payday has a pedigree that gives him plenty of directions to grow into—and enough gold to look good getting there. His name makes no promises about your bank account, but we do think he’s worth a closer look! But just to be clear, with a mom named Peanut I named him after the candy bar.
