Not new around here—but one we’re just as excited about today as the day he arrived. Midnight Kat DR (“MC”) has settled right into our program and continues to prove why we’re so high on him.

MC is by Starlight Midnight, a 2002 black stallion, NRHA money-earner, AQHA point earner, and Register of Merit recipient who qualified for the 2007 AQHA World Show in Jr. Heeling. Starlight Midnight is a son of the legendary Grays Starlight, whose offspring have earned over $10 million and made him a leading sire across NRHA, NRCHA, and NCHA—along with a top broodmare sire.

On the bottom side, MC is out of Slick As A Cat DR, a daughter of Magneticat—a big, red roan stallion known for his bone, size, stop, and cow sense. Magneticat is by Metallic Cat, one of the most influential cutting sires in the industry today. With Smooth As A Cat also in the pedigree, MC is stacked with elite cowhorse genetics from top to bottom.

Started by Clint Davis, MC has the kind of ability you expect from his pedigree—quick, athletic, and naturally cowy, with a big stop and smooth movement. But what really sets him apart is his mind. Yo’s sire, KT Jackpot City, is by City Smarts—the highest point-earning son of Smart Chic Olena with 385 reining points—and out of Lenas Abbie N Charge. This maternal line traces back to Smart Little Lena and Mr Charge Bar, adding speed, cow, and performance depth.

She carried youth riders in the show pen before becoming a standout broodmare. Her pedigree is stacked—by Comandalena ($143,000+ NRHA earnings, 260+ AQHA points) and out of a daughter of A Little Shady Jac ($17,000+ NRHA)—with greats like Doc Tom Tucker, Hollywood Jac 86, Fritz Command, and Smart Little Lena backing her.
