KT Gun in a Million, “Mil,” was born May 23, 2014 and is a mare by KT Gunpowder N Lead and out of Wright on Sugarnic, “Stinger.”‘ Mil has been color tested by UC Davis as a smoky black and her brindle coloring cannot be explained by chimerism. On top of the crazy color, she is bred to the hilt. Mil’s dam, Wright On Sugarinic (Stinger) Won Pro division of the Cascade Cutters Futurity and is an own daughter of Lenas Wright On. Her dam, Just Plain Sugari has NCHA earnings of $111.31 and is an AQHA point earner. She is a granddaughter of Smart Little Mesa, Slide Me Again and Just Plain Colonel, who are all money and pt earners. She is also the dam of our Stallion, Just Plain Starlight. Top side, this filly is out of KT Gunpowder N Lead (Gunner) is a son of Cue Bars Laddie. Cue Bars Laddie is a roan stallion that has been shown as a reiner, cowhorse and rope horse. He was the recipient of the Open AQHA All Around Trophy and is a CCHA Hall of Fame Horse. Gunner is out of Charros Dandy Miss (Pistol) who was shown NFQHA and local shows. Great cow horse/ranch horse/rope horse. Homozygous for black mane and tail, and a dunskin. Gunner has greats on his papers like Peppy San, Doc O’Lena, Dandy Derby, Docs Jack Frost, and Imperial One. Gunner took the best of both and is a dunskin roan. Broke to ride in the Allison Trimble program and a very nice stallion. We continue to be impressed with this mare. Mil had ground work done with Katie Whetzel out of Pullman and a few rides with Katie. Next, Mil went to Josh Hoelscher in the Potlatch area for 30 days. After that she went to SE Idaho and was ranch ridden by Jake Geddes from 2018-2019. In the winter of 2019 she came home. As many of you that read the blog know, we each “claim” a stud and mine is Gunner. So I am doing Man Crush Monday today on Gunner. He is definately my dream horse. I bought his mom, “Pistol,” and shoed her NFQHA before we bred her. Anna has acutally started riding her now. We bred Pistol to a stallion, Cue Bars Laddie, owned by our good friend, Allison Trimble Paparoa. Gunner spends his winters at my house, where I like to give him hugs and he tolerates this. On occasion he sees me coming and throws his head and trots away, I tell him, ok, today is not a hug day, but tomorrow is so you had just better accept it, and so far he has. LOL Pistol is also good at hugs, she likes a good squeeze every now and again. When people are out touring and ask me what they should breed their mare too, I am going to tell you 90% of the time, Gunner. But, I would breed everythingto him, so that is not helpful to you. I actually do like our other stallions as well, which is why I would give them 10% of the mares. I guess it is a good thing it is not just up to me.
KT Ray of Gunpower, “Ray,” is an enchanting colt out of Plain Dark Choclet, “Rudy,” and by KT Gunpowder N Lead. Rudy was shown back in her prime. She is a daughter of Just Plain Colonel, Earner of $52,676. He was a money-earner at the Tropicana 4-Year-Old Open Futurity, at five and six, 1989 PCCHA Open Challenge-5th, 1989 Gold & Silver 5/6-Year-Old Open Stakes-7th, 1988 Reno Western Open Classic-4th.1988 Bonanza Open Classic, 1989 PCCHA Open Top Ten He was a finalist at the 1988 PCCHA Open Tournament of Champions.
