KT Hez King Ragner
KT Hez King Ragner is a striking buckskin colt by KT Heza Pana Dude and out of KT Copper Queen Cleo. Cleo is one of our favorite mares; she is out of our first foal crop by Docs Sizzle Bar. Her dam was an awesome all-around horse, Copper Queen Robin. Dad roped off of Robin, she was used as a ranch horse, Toni barrel raced off of her and shoed her 4H. She was not used as a brood mare until she was in her 20s. Robin was one of our all-time favorite mares. Cleo bowed her tendon as a weanling, but we were able to put some rides on her as a 2 year old. She has been a super horse to have around, and has really produced some cow eating foals. Her breeding includes Docs Dee Bar, Sizzlin Hot, Gusdusted, Ed Echols, and more. 81% NFQHA. “Dude” is a great stallion that we kept out of Zinks Major Kid, Dude has some unique white markings, and is a very pretty golden color. He also has great bone, big hip, pretty head and a winning disposition. Dude was started by Jordan Crabtree in Ferndale, WA and he was a great horse to start, Jordan enjoyed riding Dude. We have foals hitting the ground by Dude and they have been big foals with a lot of size and great personalities. Dude’s breeding includes Pana Dude, Major Bonanza, Skipper W, Skipster and more. He was born 3/19/18. $2,500

KT Docs Desert Eagle
KT Docs Desert Eagle is a showy bay roan colt out of A Pepper Girl and by KT Gunpowder N Lead. Pepper is a Dry Spec a Pepper daughter, who was the 1986 Eastern Idaho QH Assn. Senior Cutting Champion. She is a granddaughter of Dry Doc; who is in the National Cutting Horse Association – Horse Hall of Fame. He was an NCHA Futurity Champion, NCHA Earnings: $85,149, AQHA Reserve W.CH. CUTTING. Pepper also goes back to King Fritz, Miss N Cash and Sugar Vandy. She is a mare with a solid build and a great disposition. She is app. 15.1 hands and is built like a tank. Gunner is a son of Cue Bars Laddie and is out of Charros Dandy Miss, “Pistol”. Cue Bars Laddie is a roan stallion that has been shown as a reiner, cowhorse and rope horse. He was the recipient of the Open AQHA All Around Trophy and is a CCHA Hall of Fame Horse. Pistol was shown NFQHA and local shows. Great cow horse/ranch horse/rope horse. Homozygous for black mane and tail, and a dunskin. Gunner has greats on his papers like Peppy San, Doc O’Lena, Dandy Derby, Docs Jack Frost, and Imperial One. Gunner took the best of both and is a dunskin roan. Gunner was broke to ride in the Allison Trimble program and a very nice stallion. This is going to be a big, impressive, striking colt, with a pedigree that is bred to perform. He was born 5/13/18. $2,500

I am a little behind getting this written.
I am a little behind getting this written. Wednesday one of Kade’s cows, “Sweet Apple,” had a cute Hereford bull calf by Rocky. I would like to say we are not disappointed that it is not a heifer. But we are. She has had two black white faced heifer calves in a row, so I guess it was too much to ask for another heifer. Also, we got the yearling colts in and West Niled them and wormed them. We also took new pictures of Major and Whim, both are still for sale if you are looking for a summer project. They are also huge. The good news is that they both remembered that they are halter broke. Smokey was perfect, but that isn’t new. He is considerably smaller than the other two, but even when you feed an orphan the way mom did, they still take forever to catch up.
Friday was my Friday off, so I took mineral out to most of the horses and cows. I may or may have not gotten temporarily stalled in Gunners pen, due to some run off last year that made a small ditch that I had forgotten about. Also, cousins Linda and Patricia showed up Friday night on their way home (to California) from visiting Yellowstone, Glacier and the Tetons National Parks. It is on Patricia’s bucket list to visit ALL of the National parks in the US, so they go to a few every year. Patricia and Jaxsen also got into a would you rather contest, on who can come up with the most extreme, would you rather have a short faced bear or a grizzly bear in your back yard. That type of thing. Dinosaurs also played a big part in the hypotheticals. Patricia never seems to get tired of Sonny’s far reaching imagination.
Believe it or not, Patricia wanted to build fence while she was here, so we decided to FINALLY finish the fence on Hendricks Rd. So Saturday we had a LONG day of fencing and sunburns. Luckily Chad showed up to shoe my horse so I got to adios vaminoos at about 2. The rest of the family and the kids kept at it until the fence was up enough that the pasture could be turned back out. We used that 5 foot no crawl horse fence. It is expensive, but it is good for a perimeter fence. I was nice and also put fronts on Fancy, to take more time so I did not have to get back to fencing.
Then we had “The Twins” graduation party Saturday night, and for course we had a good time there. We are going to miss our Twinners as they head to Oklahoma for college. People ask what we are going to do without them. We really don’t know. Literally, no idea.
Sunday, Ben, Kaine, Anna, Patricia and I built a horse fence for the riding horses so we could get them out on grass and stop feeding them. Then we took Patricia to Othello for lunch and Checos so we could get some more fencing supplies. Next, Toni and I took Patricia to move horses and finish the fence along Hendricks. We still had some areas that we needed to attach the fence to the posts in a more firm manner. That fence is so tight in a couple of spots it would take one person to hold it correctly while the other got the clips on. Kicker took the kids out on the lake in the boat for a Sunday Funday. The kids were happy to have a break from fencing. Sunday night we had a farewell dinner for Linda and Patricia. We love having them come up from California to visit us. Patricia always keeps us laughing. This year she was amazed by seed potatoes. Patricia never complains about the ranch work and always seems to enjoy herself. By the end of their visit, that Patricia could put a fence clip on with the best of them.
Tuesday morning the kids had their last assembly. All four kids got student of the month awards, so that was really cool. Sonny didn’t think he was getting one, but he did. It was really fun to have all four get awards at the same assembly. Tuesday afternoon Anna had her 6th grade promotion, I guess it is not graduation anymore. We officially have a Jr Higher on our hands. I don’t know if we are ready. I made dinner for everyone that night and Anna wanted tuna casserole. That isn’t everyone’s favorite, but the pie mom made for dessert sure was. Also on Tueday, dad’s cousin Jill came out with her sister, Lisa, to look at the horses. Today the kids got out of school at 10:10 so we are officially on summer break. Toni took them to Michael Jay’s for brunch before she went to court. Summertime here we come!

KT Gunners Big Iron
KT Gunners Big Iron is a fancy buckskin colt by KT Gunpowder N Lead, “Gunner,” and out of KT Copper Comet. Gunner is a dun roan son of Cue Bars Laddie, AQHA point earning and producing stallion. Gunner’s dam, Pistol, has been shown NFQHA, has been featured on the NFQHA rule book and in the NFQHA magazine. She is a great working ranch horse, rope horse, and the kids can ride her as well. Pistol’s sire, Gold Country Charro is a dunskin stallion that was shown in 1998 and 1999 in halter at local shows. Gunner was broke to ride in Allison Trimble from Ferndale, WA training program and was ridding by Jordan Crabtree. KT Copper Comet is a great mare that we raised. She is out of Copper Robin Queen, a great all-around mare and we all rode, we was a great ranch horse, dad roped off of her, Toni and Kellie barrel raced her and Toni showed her in 4H. Comet is by Docs Sizzle Bar, a son of Sizzlin Hot, AQHA H-19/P-29; AQHA Champion, Arena ROM; World Champion Sire, ROM Sire, AQHA Champion Sire, Superior Sire, Youth Supreme Champion Sire. Comet is a big mare that we showed for a while NFQHA and at the county fair. She is one of our favorite mares and we have a hard time selling her foals. She has 3 white socks and a white splash over her eye. Comet’s breeding also includes Shenandoll, Reed King Duster, Ed Echols and more. She is NFQHA eligible at 81%. This is a fancy colt with a pedigree bred to perform. He was born 3/17/18. $3,500

KT Shotgun Sally is a cute buckskin roan filly out of Copys Strawberrytart and by KT Gunpowder N Lead. Strawberry is a big boned red roan mare with a lot natural thickness. She is by True Enchanted Copy, who goes back to Jackie Bee, San Peppy, Biankus and Go Man Go. On the bottom side Strawberry is out of Tue Much An Angel, who goes back to Dry Doc, Bueno Chex, Skipper W and Poco Bueno. Gunner is a roan dunskin son of Cue Bars Laddie, AQHA point earning and producing stallion. Gunner’s dam, Pistol, has been shown NFQHA, has been featured on rule book and in the NFQHA magazine. She is a great working ranch horse, rope horse, and the kids can ride her as well. Pistol’s sire, Gold Country Charro is a dunskin stallion that was shown in 1998 and 1999 in halter at local shows. KT Dodge this Caliber is an impressive buckskin (roan?) colt out of KT Tin Lizzie and by KT Gunpowder N Lead. Lizzie is out of Zinks Major Kid and Miss Jug Derby. This mare produces some awesome ranch/cow/working ranch foals with breeding that includes Dandy Derby, Major Bonanza, Skipper W, Hancock and more. Gunner is a fantastic dun roan son of Cue Bars Laddie, AQHA point earning and producing stallion. Gunner is out of two parents that are both homozygous for black mane and tail, so he is the same. Gunner’s dam, Pistol, has been shown NFQHA, has been featured on the NFQHA rule book and in the NFQHA magazine. She is a great working ranch horse, rope horse, and the kids can ride her as well. Pistol’s sire, Gold Country Charro is a dunskin stallion that was shown in 1998 and 1999 in halter at local shows. Gunner has great bone, legs, hip, lots of growth, and a “can do” attitude. He was broke to ride in Allison Trimble from Ferndale, WA training program and was ridding by Jordan Crabtree.
