We are between fairs, so sorry this recap of last week is short.

Happy Labor Day. The kids clipped their steers, Anna went up and clipped the neighbor’s steer. Kade worked on roping after he got done clipping and Toni and him went on a quick ride. Jaxsen and I worked on his steer with a cable halter. The big boys had football practice. I went out and took some more pics of the foals while Toni started chores. Mom went over and stayed with grandma on Monday. Ben got an anniversary letter from Bayer celebrating his 15th year.

Back to school and work on Tuesday. Dad started working for Pioneer on Tuesday. Kade had a football game after school, mom, dad, Toni and Kicker went. Kaine ran lines at the volleyball game after football practice with Keegan, to raise money for football (the football team gets paid for gear). So I stopped on my way home and picked up Jaxsen and him and I did chores. Jaxsen did not know why he could not have been the water boy or SOMETHING, ANYTHING, instead of doing chores. Anna and Ben did the cattle chores.

Wednesday Toni and the kids hauled their steers into CBJLS after school, and after football practice. So basically, Anna and Toni loaded them and mey the boys in there. Jaxsen and I were thinking on Tuesday night that we did not load hay back on the trailer since Kaine and Kade had not and we were playing their game. Obviously, I did not think that through, I got to load it myself, joke was on me… Dad moved the water and I did the chores. The men did the cattle chores. The kids and Toni got home from CBJLS late. Marlo and dad came down and got the new red pickup we bought from Musser Bros, it is an 08 and looks pretty good. We also got pics of Jackpot on Wednesday. He looks GOOD.

Thursday was market, everyone got to CBJLS early, except me, I had a board meeting at work so did not make it. FFA was first, cousin Pepper was Grand Champion FFA and Anna was Reserve Champion. 4H was next, Natalie was Grand Champion 4H and Ady was Reserve. Juju was 1st in his class with Kevin, Kade was 3rd with Black Adam, Kaine was 5th with Merica and Jaxsen was 7th with Loki. Everyone showed well and it was a great day. I got home from work and did chores. Toni and Jaxsen went to the movies and Kade and Kaine hung out at the fairgrounds. Coco and Shea brought Anna home, after they surprised everyone by showing up.

Back at it Friday, we showed in the afternoon. Anna was Grand Champion in FFA Showmanship, Kaine was Grand and Kade was Reserve in Sr Showmanship. Jaxsen was Reserve in Intermediate and Natalee was Grand Champion in Jr Showmanship. Kaine and Kade missed going to the game in Nooksack since they were not done showing, us parents were really disappointed in that. Savannah and Kayla had Peewee showing on Friday as well. Toni, Whitney, Shelby, Marlo and I ran home to do chores, and then got back for the Round Robin. It was great, all our kids showed well. Anna and Natalee were both champions. Friday night was Axe throwing, and the kids all had fun.

Saturday morning we had livestock judging, Toni loves her and Leslie picking and placing the classes. Then she does the oral reasons to the judging group. Next was the parade, Jaxsen went with Deb and Jolene. The rest of us did not go. The beef sold first, the prices were not super great, but we want to thank everyone that support the kids. Jade and Josh Anderson bought Annas, Connell Grange bought Kades, Tri State Seed bought Kaines and Maria and Luis Borba bought Jaxsens. Thank you to our 2023 CBJLS Buyers. Then we loaded steers and went to the awards ceremony and the dance. Also, contact Summer Boyd or Marlo Bumstead about getting Corporate Cowgirl or Courtroom Cowgirl cups like below, you can find Corporate cowgirl on Instagram.

Sunday we packed up at CBJLS and moved to Othello Fair, last county fair. Then we tried to catch up on work and homework before school. Toni loaded out Cinder and Lilly and they went to their new homes. We said good bye to our baby Shea Shea, and Coco.

Today is market at the Othello Fair, come and watch. Tomorrow is showmanship. Friday is round robin and Saturday is the sale.

And thank you Sunrise Photography for all of these great pictures.
