We are officially gearing up for the Benton Franklin Fair, and fair setup starts this weekend. We haul in on Monday, so the countdown is on!
This year is especially bittersweet because it will be Kade’s final year showing a steer at Benton Franklin. I’m not sure how we got here so quickly, but we would love for everyone to stop by, visit with him and, of course, buy his steer!
Kade’s steer, Harvey, is a second-generation clubby that we raised. His dam, Foxxy, is out of an Angus cow and Dakota Gold, and Harvey is sired by Trump Train. There is something pretty special about watching Kade finish his final fair season with a steer carrying genetics we’ve raised ourselves. This is Foxxy’s third calf to to go to Benton Franklin Fair, Anna and Jaxsen have both shown one.

Jaxsen will also be showing his good black clubby steer, Zane, and he would love to have everyone stop by and see him too!
As if fair week wasn’t enough of a reminder that summer is ending, Anna heads back to the University of Idaho on Sunday. Kaine is currently working for a farmer near Lind until he starts at Perry Tech.
I’m honestly really sad to see summer come to an end. The kids are growing up, heading in different directions, and starting new chapters faster than I’m ready for—but I’m also incredibly proud of each of them.
Here’s to a weekend full of fair preparations, family, new adventures and probably a little controlled chaos.
Come see Kade and Jaxsen at the Benton Franklin Fair—and don’t forget to bid on Harvey and Zane!
