It was great to have Toni fill in for me last week during my unplanned trip to tag along with the girls to the Nile. As much fun as we all had reading her spicy posts, she has a pretty packed schedule and doesn’t think she can take over full time. However, I have asked her to write the “It’s Finally Friday” posts, so we will see what happens tomorrow. We were all getting a good laugh reading them from Billings, and she did a great job. She is also now in charge of the Happy Birthday posts, which is why they are now more than a picture and “Happy Birthday.” Because we all know Toni is the one with the words. She makes me do these Thursday Thoughts so that I will use some words.

Well, we have almost everyone weaned, except the two baby girls, Butter and Irish, and the three girls on the old mares, who are also young: Tempo, Trigger and Tiny. Halter breaking is going great. However, the donkeys might not agree with that statement.

Foals are headed to their new homes. Deano dropped off a couple of new mares from Utah while I was gone. Both are really well-bred mares we are excited to have. Jake dropped off a couple of well-bred older mares from Montana on Tuesday. You know you cannot have too many… Chad was out a few days, and they got some horses trimmed and Kade’s roping horses shod. The men are still working on circles to get our last week of water in.

We had a great time at the Nile, and all of the cattle did great. Baby Bull, Reed, was a great hit for Tel, and Next Level Images took a pic of Tel leading him, but so far they have not posted it… I keep watching. Reed was unsure of Tel at first, since we have no small children, but now he is a pro. Since we were holding Ace, Reed thought Ace tasted good.

While we were gone, Tesa and Toni got a small group of heifers Bangs vaccinated so that Vincent Bass, our Nile Merit Heifer recipient, could come out and pick his heifer. We still have the rest to do.

It was great seeing Morgan, the boys and Kendall. It was also great that Tommy Jo was able to join us. We made it home in time to see Jaxsen turn 16. We wanted to make sure to get home and off the road before he got on it. Yes, I am joking.

Jaxsen had two football games the past week, and the football team is doing great. Jaxsen and Hailey went to homecoming on Saturday, and Jaxsen also joined in the homecoming activities all week. Kade did neither, but he did go roping and went to Ellensburg to see his girlfriend.

Kaine is having fun using his CDL in his hydroseeding job. He is up by Canada right now. Anna made it home in time to do some midterms.
And here is a video of our favorite Jexy boy.
