His sire, KT HotTimein Cowtown, “Tank,” is by KR Gun Powder and out of KT Cow Cuttin Hottie. KR Gun Powder is a son of the legendary Colonels Smoking Gun, “Gunner,” and out of A Bueno Poco Dunit. In only nine shows, KR Gun Powder won the 2016 APHA Senior Reining World Championship and earned nearly $13,000 in NRHA competition.
Tank’s dam, KT Cow Cuttin Hottie, is by the accomplished Cow Cuttin Colonel. His achievements include an NRCHA Superior Cow Horse award, AQHA Open and Amateur Performance Registers of Merit, third place at the 2006 NRCHA World Show in Non-Pro Hackamore, and a WRHA Non-Pro Derby Reserve Championship.
On the dam side, Howie is out of Educated Downdirty, a daughter of An Educated Guess—the highest AQHA point-earning son of Smart Chic Olena. An Educated Guess earned 385 reining points, more than $20,000 in lifetime earnings, and numerous AQHA World Show placings and circuit championships.
Howie’s granddam, Plain Dark Chocolate, “Rudy,” is a daughter of Just Plain Colonel, an earner of $52,676 and the NRCHA’s No. 6 all-time leading sire. Just Plain Colonel appeared consistently on leading-sire lists in reined cow horse, cutting, and reining for more than a decade. Rudy’s bottom side adds even more proven performance breeding through Par Three and Doc N Willy.
