Here’s the honest Truth: this buckskin colt has the pedigree, the build, and the kind of mind you want to bring home. He was one of the babies Kade and I halter broke last week, and he’s already standing for pictures like he’s done this before.
His mama, Sioux, came to us from Texas, and she has never met a person she didn’t want to visit with. She’s sweet, people-oriented, and loves attention, and she passes that right on to her foals. Don’t let the sweet fool you, though. Her sire, A Shiner Named Sioux, could flat-out work:
- 35 AQHA Performance Points
- LTE $163,934
- 2011 AQHA World Champion – Junior Working Cow Horse
- 2010 AQHA World Champion – Junior Reining
- 3rd – 2010 NRCHA Derby Open
- Top 10 – 2009 NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity (High Score Reined Work)
Sioux’s dam is by Doc O Dynamite and is a producer of champions, adding even more depth to his pedigree.
Truth’s sire, Nugget of Truth, never set foot in a show pen. He was broke to ride and spent most of his life doing the real job as a ranch remuda stallion for McMullin Ranch, where he became the foundation of their ranch horse breeding program. Nugget didn’t need trophies. His résumé is the horses he sired: conformationally correct, big-boned, hardy, and trainable with willing minds. Many of them have gone on to be dependable working and riding horses across multiple disciplines.
So Truth gets two World Championships and $163,934 from his mama’s side, and a whole remuda’s worth of ranch horses from his daddy’s side. That’s arena talent and get-it-done toughness in one fuzzy buckskin package.
Arena, ranch, or someday the breeding pen, Truth has all the ingredients. All he needs now is his person.
