Can we talk about Fall Back for a minute? Nobody told the horses and cows. They still want breakfast on the old schedule, and now it’s dark before chores are done and I am even home. I’m convinced whoever invented this never had to feed anything.

Last week I was in Reno for the Family Farm Alliance conference. It’s a great organization, and they put on a great conference. If you’re in Reno this week, the Red Angus Regional Show and sale are going on. Last year Family Farm Alliance landed the same week, so we made a quick detour to go see everyone. Pics are from when I was with Family Farm in DC a month ago. I did not take any pics in Reno.

The weekend before I left, Kade and I decided it would be “fun” to halter break all the buckskins. Four babies by four different stallions: Handsome by Sagebug, Shooter by Gunner, Lena by MC, and Truth by an outside stallion. Fun is a strong word, but they all came along great. This week it’s Ladybug and Missy’s turn, and both fillies are awesome. We also have in the four colts heading out this week are they are already halter broke and ready for their new home.

We had company out too. Morgan from Old Mil, Lane from Purina, and another Purina rep came by, and Kade showed them around. It’s always fun to have people out.

Friday night Jaxsen played a good game against Cashmere. Proud of him.

Saturday John, Maddie, JackJack and Mia brought Elvis down. Kade has already been on him, and he rides great. Not bad for The King

We also worked the bull calves Saturday, and I got pictures of a few of them. If you missed it, our bull lineup video is up, and I had lots of help getting those pictures.
Sunday morning Kade and Anna rode out and checked the cows.
Sunday afternoon we had the October/November birthday party with Terry and Erina. It was a big one for Terry but I am going to keep that number close to the vest. Also a big one for Ben at 50, Jax at 16 and Anna at 21. Where does the time go??

On Wednesday Jake stopped by and took Player back over to Tina’s for the winter. He’s also taking Ruthy to her new home in Roy. We’ll miss her, but she’s landing in a good spot.

Here’s to shorter days and longer coffee breaks.
