His sire, Midnight Kat DR (“MC”), is backed by elite cutting, reining, and cow horse bloodlines. MC is by Starlight Midnight, an NRHA money-earner, 2007 AQHA World Show qualifier in Junior Heeling, and earner of more than 60 AQHA points and his Register of Merit. Starlight Midnight is a son of the legendary Grays Starlight, whose offspring have earned more than $10 million.
MC’s dam, Slick As A Cat DR, is by Magneticat, a powerful red roan son of Metallic Cat known for his bone, size, athleticism, and cow sense. Her maternal line also carries Smooth As A Cat, adding even more proven cutting ability.
On the bottom side, this colt is out of KT Miss Benelli Girl (“Nellie”), a big, impressive buckskin mare we have always thought a lot of. Nellie’s dam, Pepper, is by Dry Spec A Pepper, the 1986 Eastern Idaho Quarter Horse Association Senior Cutting Champion and a grandson of Dry Doc—an NCHA Futurity Champion, AQHA Reserve World Champion in Cutting, Hall of Fame inductee, and earner of more than $85,000.
Nellie is also a granddaughter of Cue Bars Laddie, a versatile roan stallion shown in reining, cow horse, and roping competition. He earned an Open AQHA All-Around Trophy and was inducted into the CCHA Hall of Fame. Nellie is also a full sister to the dependable buckskin mare everyone rides—but Kade claims as his own.
