Every good ranch starts with good horses, and Remi is proving she’s ready to follow in the hoofprints of the great ones before her.

Remi is a beautiful red dun mare that Toni started riding, and we’re excited about her future. She is currently at the Shattucks’, where she’s learning the ropes—literally! Since Jim needed another roping horse, Remi has gone into training with him to continue her education in the roping pen. We can’t wait to watch her progress and see where this next chapter takes her.

Her sire, KT Gunners Sage Bug, has consistently passed on athletic ability, substance, and good minds to his foals. Sage Bug is by our stallion KT Gunpowder N Lead (“Gunner”), a roan dunskin son of the AQHA point-earning and proven sire Cue Bars Laddie. Gunner has become one of the cornerstone stallions of our program, producing horses with size, bone, versatility, and the trainable minds every ranch horse needs.

Gunner’s dam, Pistol, is a mare that has done it all. She has been shown with the NFQHA, featured on the cover of the NFQHA Rule Book and in the NFQHA magazine, and has proven herself as an outstanding ranch horse, rope horse, and family horse that the kids could ride. Sage Bug’s dam, Continental Lady Bug, adds even more substance with her Continental Cad and Mr. Blackburn breeding, producing horses known for their durability and strong foundation.

Remi’s dam, KT Major Stinger Bee (“BB”), contributes an exceptional performance pedigree. BB is out of Stinger, the Cascade Cutters Futurity Pro Champion and an own daughter of Lenas Wright On. Stinger’s dam earned NCHA money and AQHA points, while the pedigree is packed with legendary names including Smart Little Lena, Slide Me Again, and Just Plain Colonel—horses recognized for their success in the cutting pen and cow horse arena.

Remi represents exactly what we strive to raise at KT Ranch: horses with the minds, athletic ability, and pedigree to excel wherever they’re asked to go. Whether that’s gathering cattle, spending long days on the ranch, or stepping into the roping arena, she’s proving she’s ready for the challenge.
