Mare Monday – KT A Benelli Girl “Benelli”

Some horses are simply too good to let go.

When we had the opportunity to bring Benelli back home to KT Ranch, we didn’t hesitate. She had spent several years proving herself as a talented rope horse and barrel horse, and today she’s become one of Kade’s absolute favorite riding horses.

If you ask Kade, she’ll do just about anything you ask of her. Whether it’s roping, ranch work, or just heading out for a ride, Benelli is dependable, athletic, and always willing. In fact, the biggest problem around here is that everyone else keeps trying to steal her from him! She’s the kind of horse everyone wants to throw a saddle on.

Born in 2017, this beautiful buckskin mare has the size, bone, and athletic ability we strive to produce. She combines eye appeal with a quiet disposition and a pedigree built for generations of performance horses.

Benelli is sired by our own KT Gunpowder N Lead (“Gunner”), whose offspring have earned a reputation for their trainability, versatility, and willing minds. Gunner is by Cue Bars Laddie, an Open AQHA All-Around Trophy winner and CCHA Hall of Fame horse that excelled in reining, cow horse, and roping.

Her dam, A Pepper Girl, brings outstanding cutting horse genetics. She is a daughter of Dry Spec A Pepper, the 1986 Eastern Idaho Quarter Horse Association Senior Cutting Champion, and a granddaughter of the legendary Dry Doc—an NCHA Futurity Champion, AQHA Reserve World Champion in Cutting, NCHA Hall of Fame horse, and earner of more than $85,000.

Benelli is proof that great breeding produces great horses. She has the athletic ability to compete, the mind to handle a day’s work on the ranch, and the kind of disposition that makes everyone want to ride her.

We couldn’t be happier to have her back where she belongs.

Sometimes the best horses find their way home.
