Classic Metal

2024 Bay Roan Stallion
Sire: Metallic Malice
Dam: Spoon Me a Lil, by Lil Spoon

Classic Metal is a young stallion we are excited to have in our program. This sharp bay roan 2-year-old combines proven cow horse genetics, standout color, natural athletic ability, good bone, and the kind of willing mind we want in a performance horse.

Cal is sired by Metallic Malice, an accomplished son of the legendary Metallic Cat and out of High Boon, a daughter of Mecom Blue whose offspring have earned more than $100,000. Metallic Malice earned over 114 AQHA points, along with NRCHA and NCHA earnings, while competing successfully in working cow horse, cutting, heading, heeling, and halter. His record proves that he is more than a specialist—he has the ability and versatility to perform across multiple events.

Metallic Malice is also establishing himself as a sire. His offspring are earning money in cutting, cow horse, roping, and barrel competition. Performers such as Metallic Remodel, Smart Malice, and Mighty Metal demonstrate the athletic ability, trainability, substance, and eye appeal he consistently passes on.

On the bottom side, Cal is out of Spoon Me a Lil, a daughter of Lil Spoon. Lil Spoon is a striking blue roan son of the leading sire He’s A Peptospoonful. His pedigree brings in Smart Little Lena and Docs Hickory, adding generations of proven cow sense, intelligence, quickness, and natural feel.

Cal is balanced, deep-bodied, athletic, and built with the substance to handle a real job. His pedigree brings together Metallic Cat, Mecom Blue, He’s A Peptospoonful, Smart Little Lena, and Docs Hickory—bloodlines proven in the cow horse, cutting, roping, ranch horse, and performance arenas.

With his pedigree, color, build, and trainable disposition, Classic Metal has the ingredients we were looking for in a young stallion. We are looking forward to watching Cal continue to develop and seeing what the future holds for him at KT Ranch.
