Thursday Thoughts with Kellie

Jaxsen turned the big 16 last Wednesday and now gets to drive himself to school. Everyone watch out!

Last Thursday I got a text from my cousin’s daughter that Kade’s roping horse, Gucci, was clear over by her house. Kade is in Running Start and only takes one class at the high school. Of course, that one hour is exactly when they decided to get out. Luckily Gucci was fine, so Kade still got to go roping with Mr. Dansie.

Thursday night Jaxsen had a football game at Royal. We played at Royal last year too. I’m starting to wonder if we always go to Royal and they never come to Connell.

On Saturday I finally got some much-needed pictures of the bulls we have for sale, so keep an eye out for their Bull of the Week posts. Kade had trap Saturday morning, then came down to help Anna pack for Western Showcase. Kaine went to Pendleton JC for a jackpot roping. He doesn’t rope, so he’s in charge of driving. Jaxsen had his friend Luke over for his birthday to watch the UFC fight.

Kade, Mylie and Toni got the yearling fillies in to show and wormed them all. We worked on foals too, then went to Fujiyama for dinner to celebrate Traci’s 40th birthday. Happy birthday, Traci!

Ty sent us some pictures of Cal. He looks great and is doing great.

On Sunday we brought the new foals in to halter break. It’s buckskin week around here, and they’re all out of different studs. If you want to see the babies in action, check out our Foal Fun of the Week video on Wednesday!

The three-year-old cows looked like they were losing a little weight, so we brought them in and put them with Gunner and the bull, 242, so they’d get a little extra. A few of the bulls we have for sale are his sons, so he’s earning his keep.

Marlo Boyd borrowed Scooter for the winter, so he headed to Finley. KT Sugar Shootin Kat left Monday for her new home in North Dakota. We’re super excited to watch Sugar get shown at Ranching Heritage!

Have a great week, everyone!
