Mare Monday – KT DoubleTuffElectra “Electra”

This week’s Mare Monday spotlight is on KT DoubleTuffElectra, better known around here as Electra.

Electra is one of Kade’s riding horses and has become a dependable partner both in and out of the roping pen. She has the kind of disposition and athletic ability that makes her fun to ride and easy to appreciate.

Her story came full circle when we sold her as a foal and then had the opportunity to buy her back in 2023. Bringing her home was a decision we’re glad we made, as she has become an important part of Kade’s horse string.

Electra is by our late stallion Captains Double Coy (“Double”), a horse known for producing offspring with exceptional dispositions, trainability, and natural cow sense. Double’s pedigree includes influential names such as Major Bonanza, Alotta King, and Jaguar, and his offspring continue to prove themselves as versatile ranch and performance horses.

On the bottom side, Electra is out of A Tuff Edition (“Tuffy”), a beautiful dun mare standing 14.2 hands with plenty of chrome, bone, and athletic ability. Tuffy combines cow horse and running horse bloodlines, tracing back to Continental on the top side and Breeze Bar on the bottom. She consistently passed along substance, color, and a willing attitude to her foals.

This was a cross we repeated several times, and every filly out of Double and Tuffy has been outstanding to work with. They have all been willing, trainable, athletic, and blessed with the kind of minds that make great ranch and family horses.

Today, Electra continues to prove why we liked this cross so much. Whether she’s helping Kade rope, covering miles around the ranch, or simply being a dependable horse to saddle up, she represents the kind of horse we strive to raise.

What we love about Electra:
✔ Outstanding disposition
✔ Naturally cowy and athletic
✔ Strong foundation pedigree
✔ Proven ranch and rope horse ability
✔ One of Kade’s favorite riding horses

Sometimes the best horses are the ones that find their way back home. Electra is one of those horses, and we’re sure glad she’s back where she belongs.
