Some stallions are bred right… and some are the kind you build a program around. Cappy is both.
KT OneShadie Captain is out of A Little Shadie Chic “Shadie” and by Captains Double Coy “Double,” combining proven reining performance with real-world ranch ability.
Shadie is a dark palomino mare with a strong show record, including 2006 NRHA Reserve Regional Experience Champion (Region One), along with multiple AQHA points. She carried youth riders in the show pen before becoming a standout broodmare. Her pedigree is stacked—by Comandalena ($143,000+ NRHA earnings, 260+ AQHA points) and out of a daughter of A Little Shady Jac ($17,000+ NRHA)—with greats like Doc Tom Tucker, Hollywood Jac 86, Fritz Command, and Smart Little Lena backing her. She is also 5-panel negative.
On the top side, Double is the kind of stallion that stamps his colts—big hipped, cowy, and naturally athletic. His foals are known for being easy to start, willing, and versatile. Whether it’s ranch work, roping, or barrels, they have the ability and mind to go do the job. Double himself was professionally trained, used on the ranch, and is the kind you can rely on every day—cow smart, smooth, and rides like a gelding.
Cappy carries that same combination—pedigree, disposition, and ability.
Started by Jason Hicks and later with Jordan Pace, he was given a solid foundation from the start. We picked him up in June 2023, and he’s been everything we hoped for—trainable, good-minded, and built to perform.
This is the kind of stallion that doesn’t just look the part—he produces it.
