Performance Horse Journal
I just got done reading the free electronic version of the new Performance Horse Journal from AQHA. There were a lot of great articles. Also, you take the online quiz at the end and get entered into the drawing. http://www.mzines.net/touch.aspx?pid=1334&pkey=zjuetpalh

Training Tip from the AQHA Ranching Newsletter
“Look up! When you come across the middle of the pen (reining or ranch riding), look up where you’re going. When you get ready to change leads and go the other way, look that direction and take your horse with you. It’s just like driving down the highway. If you’re not looking where you’re going, I don’t want to be on the highway with you.” – A tip from trainer Chris Jeter at a Stock Horse of Texas clinic. More from the AQHA Ranching Newsletter: Ford Youth World
The 2016 Built Ford Tough AQHYA World Championship Show is fast approaching. Don’t miss the news and coverage brought to you by The American Quarter Horse Journal. Be sure to watch for the 47 Ranching Heritage-bred horses competing at the show – if you can’t be there live, watch the free webcast of the event, presented by Nationwide Insurance.
As a Ranching Heritage breeder, KT Ranch is excitied to see how these 47 Raching Heritage bred horses perform.

Way to Go Bailey and Sugar
Bailey and Sugar did awesome at their first show, they were first in halter, and 2nd in showmanship.

Young Horse Development
The AQHA Ranching Heritage Young Horse Development Program showcases the stock being bred and raised by AQHA Ranching Heritage Breeders, and provides an opportunity for youth to become engaged in the horse industry at a fundamental level that will be fun and educational.
AQHYA members are selected to receive a free weanling from generous Ranching Heritage Breeders. They then participate in the program, which requires monthly reports, record keeping, showing and education while competing for a chance at scholarships.
Alumni youth like Karli Knapp of Wardsboro, Vermont, are continuing on with the youngsters they received. Karli was chosen to receive weanling MRQH Dandy Hustles from Moreau River Quarter Horses in Mud Butte, South Dakota, and they were recently spotted competing at the Merial AQHA Region Six Championships. Read an update on alumni Sierra and Cheyenne Walter in the upcoming fall issue of the Ranch Horse Journal.
The 2016 deadline for youth to apply is August 26.

My Te Oh, “Taxi”
My Te Oh, “Taxi,”is a big solid 13 year old mare and is broke as they come. She is a finished barrel horse but you can do most anything on her. We headed on her quite a bit the last 2 summers at home. She has been on poles (not competitively) and has been rode out a ton. I have taken her to a lot of amateur rodeos over the last 3 years & quite a few pro rodeos last summer. She will clock in the 2D at smaller races & the 3D in bigger races. She is a very ratey mare & will not run by a barrel. She is legged up and ready to go. She is by Go Silver Shadow and out of Three in Flight. $10,000.
