Anna’s favorite show heifer now cow: BK Primrose 006

How often do you find a show heifer that can compete in the ring not only as a heifer, but go on to be an exceptional cow—one that raises a competitive calf year after year? Even rarer is a cow you build a bond with, a bond that never breaks once she becomes a “normal” pasture cow. 006’s first name “Belle” never quite stuck; to me, she was always Six. Coming back from the COVID shutdown, Six and I were a team to beat. Together, we received showmanship banners across Washington and Idaho, and in 2021, she was the first heifer I took to the National Junior Angus Show. Since being turned out as a cow, Six has never disappointed me. I’ve shown one of her bulls across Washington, Idaho and Montana, and every time she’s pulled from the pasture to compete, she’s earned the Champion Cow-Calf banner. Cows that can truly do it all are hard to find—but Six is one of them.
